This is the City’s portion, made payable to the City of Steamboat Springs and submitted to the Routt County Regional Building Department. At the end of the project, City of Steamboat Springs Finance requires a construction use tax reconciliation be completed to be compliant with the City of Steamboat Springs Municipal Code AND prior to signoff for the FINAL certificate of occupancy/approval with the Routt County Building Department.

Thank you for submitting the Contractor’s Exempt Certificate for this project. The City of Steamboat Springs Use Tax can be removed from this permit. City Finance has approved City excise tax & fees of $1,000.00 on this project. A refund will be issued to Advocates in the amount of $1,462.50 for the use tax paid via check on 4/5/2021. It may take up to 2 weeks to receive the refund check. A city use tax reconciliation is not required since the certificate was presented. Just a reminder, this exemption does not include or apply to the purchase or rental of equipment, supplies, appliances, and materials which are purchased, rented, or consumed by the contractor and which do not become a part of the structure, highway, road, street, or other public works owned and used by the exempt organization.
